ADD and ADHD
-ADD (attention deficit disorder) – individuals that find it difficult to maintain their focus or attention to the task at hand.
Individuals that are ADD/ADHD are very aware of everything in their environment.
An ADD child is aware of what is happening in and out of the classroom. Since the child is extremely aware, he can focus his attention to what is most interesting to him; what the teacher is saying, the sound of a fire truck outside, whispers from the back of the classroom, and often, daydreaming. Each of these examples affect his perception (vision, hearing, or time).
-ADHD (Attention deficit Hyperactivity disorder) - generally the same as ADD but with motion and movement involved.
An ADHD child has the combination of the symptoms above and not being able to sit still. His sense of balance and movement is distorted.
